I graduated spring 2020 with a bachelor's degree in news/editorial journaIism and a minor in chemistry from Western Washington University. I landed a job in rural North Dakota at Wahpeton Daily News in September 2020 and earned four photography awards and four reporting awards from the North Dakota Newspaper Association for work I completed in my first three months. I was promoted to assistant managing editor within eight months of being hired. I have experience writing for all beats, including news, features, breaking and investigative. I frequently photograph my own stories and have experience creating podcasts and videos.

Adventure runs in my blood — perhaps that's part of the reason I chose to be a journalist. I like to live passionately and boldly, and that lust for life has led me to travel to 18 countries, jump out of a plane, try any food (the most difficult being jellied pork intestine, a Czech delicacy) and befriend people from every corner of the w
Adventure runs in my blood — perhaps that's part of the reason I chose to be a journalist. I like to live passionately and boldly, and that lust for life has led me to travel to 18 countries, jump out of a plane, try any food (the most difficult being jellied pork intestine, a Czech delicacy) and befriend people from every corner of the world. In my free time, I like to make earrings, paint, read, hike and cook. Anything that has to do with arts and crafts has my attention. I serve as the youngest director on my local art gallery's board of directors. Living fully expands to my values and morals. I am passionate about social justice issues, social reform, mental health, education and the environment.
